Please discuss the following:
1. Introduction – 1 paragraph
a. Identify the title and author
b. Brief summary (3-4 sentences)

2. Character Analysis (provide textual evidence) – 2 paragraphs
a. Discuss one character from the book. (Preferably the one that has the most impact on the story line.) Discuss his/her role in the story and why s/he is important. Why did you pick this character to analyze?
b. Is this character a static or dynamic character? If the character is dynamic, in what way does this character change?
c. If there is one, identify the protagonist and antagonist of the story with reasons why you believe this.
d. Give a detailed description of the character, not limited to their physical appearance, as s/he is revealed through actions, dialogue, other characters’ reactions to the character in question.
3. Literary Analysis of the novel written in 2 paragraphs (provide textual evidence)
a. Pick 2 of the following literary elements and discuss how each impacts the plot of the story.
i. Conflict
ii. Setting (time, place, mood)
iii. Author’s style, voice
iv. Symbolic elements
v. Point of view
vi. theme
4. Personal Statement
a. Write about one connection you made with the book (text to text, text to self, text to world)
b. Your thoughts. Include anything else you feel needs to be conveyed about your book here. Why did you pick this book to read? What did you dis/like about the book and why? Where did you really get interested? What questions do you have left unanswered? Etc.
c. Your recommendation. Would you recommend this book to your peers? Explain.
Separate from your paper (but turned in at the same time) you will need to do the following:
Research the author of your book. Find out about their life. Print your source. From this and/or other documents, please tell me in paragraph form about the following information (approx 2 paragraphs, no less).
